A tool holder has an insert receiving pocket and uses a tiltable pin (26) to clamp an insert (18) in the pocket. The pin is located in a bore through the bottom of the pocket of the tool holder and is tiltable therein so that one end of the pin engages a center hole (34) of an insert and clamps it in the pocket. A recess (36) communicates with the bore near the lower end of the pin when the pin is in the bore and spherical elements such as balls (40) are disposed in said recess. Means for moving said spherical elements are provided so that the pin is tilted into clamping position on the insert. A top clamp (24) is provided that cooperates with the pin element in clamping said insert. <IMAGE> |
