The wrapping is for one or more items to be packed, particularly those with pairs of parallel outer faces. It consists of a strip of weldable elastic plastics sheet stretched tight round the item, unshrunk and sealed along a seam. The width of the strip is greater than the length of the item outer edge (1) parallel to the weld seam (4), the latter running along a bottom outer edge of the item. The protruding strip portions at either side are folded flat under tension against the item side surfaces (3) so as to cover them completely, and fixed in place.
