<p>A method of determining the vibration modes of a component, partic. for vehicle structural componenets, involves measurements at frequencies of interest, esp. component eigen frequencies. It is implemented rapidly, accurately and economically with convenient components. Vibrations are stimulated by the application of local shocks whose effect is measured and produces a reference signal with one of the frequencies of interest. Maximum vibration amplitudes at the frequencies of interest are measured at different points. Each measurement signal is divided by the reference signal. The quotients constitute position- and frequency- related measurement outputs.</p> |
