PURPOSE:By making it possible to confirm the size of a copy medium, when set, thereby to prevent the copy having a different size from an original by providing a display section for displaying the size of the copy medium on or in the vicinity of the contact surface, on which the original is set. CONSTITUTION:A contact surface 13 made of contact glass is provided such that an original having a maximum size of A3 may be placed thereon. the contact surface 13 thus made is equipped with a segment 14 made of liquid crystals which are composed of 13 elements, as indicated at a to m, thereby to constitute a display unit 15. Those segments 14 are made operative to emit lights, when supplied with power, and to exhibit optical transmissivity similar to the glass portion when supplied with no power. The power supply to the segments 14 are controlled in response to the opening and closing operations of a pressure plate which is provided on the contact surface 13. Thus, it is possible to know the size of the copy medium which has been designated when the original was placed, and to prevent the inconsistency between the sizes of the original and the copy. |
