EPDM mouldings protected against frosting - by adding morpholino-hydroxy-benzofuran deriv. or methylene bis:methyl-tert.-butyl-phenol before vulcanisation

Prodn. of mouldings, protected from frosting (surface oxidn.), from an EPDM rubber blend is effected by adding 0.5-2.0 phr of a morpholino-hydroxy-benzofuran deriv. (I) or corresp. amts. of 2,2'-methylene-bis-(4-methyl-6-tert, -butylphenol) to the blend before vulcanisation. Light-coloured blends, opt. contg. chlorosulphonated polyethylene, are permanently protected against frosting.
