Foundry moulding machine mfg. sand moulds in boxes - without precompaction by vibrators by using sand shooter and multicylinder ram

The machine table carries a pattern plate on which the moulding box is located. The table is then raised by a piston to locate the top edge of the moulding box underneath a hollow filling frame functioning as a sand shooter. On the inner lower edge of frame are tangential slots via which the sand enters the box to create circular motion of the sand. Located inside the hollow frame are several work cylinders, each with a piston driven independently. These pistons form a ram compacting the sand in the box in a uniform manner. The combination of a sand shooter and multi-cylinder ram permits the elimination of noisy vibrators.
