<p>Parent patent described a process for preventing cold setting foundry sand mixts. from blocking a mixer used to prepare the mixts. e.g. from sand, catalyst and resin binder. Before the start of the mixing process, a medium (I) is sprayed into the empty mixer to prevent hard deposits of the mixed materials blocking the mixer. In this addn., medium (I) is a gas which cools the mechanical parts of the mixer. The gas is pref. fed under pressure into the mixer, and consists entirely or mainly of CO2. The pref. mixer consists of a trough contg. a screw feeder-mixer. The CO2 is fed into the through via a row of holes in the through lid. Medium (I) avoids the disadvantages involved with the liq. spray medium used in the main patent.</p> |
