Gas turbine control for ice breaker - has control for shorting electric servo drive prior to thrust reversal

The turbo electric drive for the icebreaker has a relative small tubine with synchronous generators. The generators and motors are short circuited when the thrust is reversed. The shorting control enables the propellers to be rapidly stopped without affecting the drag on the light turbine. Controlled release of the shorting switches provides a steady increase in torque to allow the turbine to adapt and without restricting the turbine too much.
