<p>The drawbar is linked to the trailer by two horizontal bearings with conical opposing bearing surfaces (9) at each end of each fitting. The whole bearing is secured by a tensioning bolt (14) and outside pressure plates. The tightening of the bolt takes up any wear in the bearing, which is made from an elastic self lubricating material. The bolt bears against end plates with flanges (13) which press against the big ends of the cones (9) of flexible plastics material. There are curved free surfaces (15, 16) at the ends of the cones to allow compressive movements of the end plates to take place.</p> |
