Separator for gaseous components from carrier gas - utilises compression and removes contaminants before entering low temp. rectification zone

Low temp. rectification is used for sepn. of at least two higher boiling point gaseous components from a carrier gas with relatively low boiling point. The system operates continuously and high efficiency is ensured in large scale production and high plant availability even if the concentration of components fluctuates. Into the compressed carrier gas with entrained gases to be separated, is injected a gas before entering the low temp. rectification system. This injected gas consists at least of one of the lower boiling point components to be separated. The gas injection is carried out at the end of the compression and removal of contaminants. The injected gas is obtained by return of one part of the lower boiling point separated components.
