PURPOSE:The captioned alloy of superior abrasion resistance and strain resistance and low cost comprising being composed of the specific composition containing Fe, Nb, Cr, Mn and the rest Ni and having specific magnetostricitive values. CONSTITUTION:The alloy composed of, in wt%, Fe, 5.0 to 11.8%, Nb; 0.5 to 3.0%, Cr; 0.5 to 10.0%, Mn; <= 3%, the rest Ni is heat-treated. The heat treatment makes magnetostricition -2X10<-6> to 1X10<-6> in furnace cooling equivalent (50 deg./H to 300 deg./H) and yields the magnetic alloy of superior abrasion resistance and strain resistance suited for magnetic heads. |
