PURPOSE:To form such an electrode in which stable state being flowed with current is sustained by applying specific current or voltage to the electrode at the time of spraying ceramics onto the solid electrolyte ceramic surface after electrode formation. CONSTITUTION:Current of more than 10muA or voltage of more than 1V is applied between the inner electrode 3 and outer electrode 4 formed on the surface of a solid electrolyte ceramics 2 at the time when a protecting film 1 composed of ceramics is sprayed. The improvement in characteristics largely depends upon the maximum current having been flowed and the improvement phenomena of characteristics such as of faster rise and fall of response speeds from several 10muA, etc. are observed. The degree of this improvement is higher as the current is larger. In addition, the degree of stability is insured by keeping flowing the current until the ceramics 2 cools down to ordinary temperature region, and the initial object is achieved sufficiently by applying voltage above about 1V. |
