PURPOSE:To form a tensionless seat belt retractor, by providing a plurality of projections on an external gear and movably fitting the projections in a plurality of long holes of a disc ratchet. CONSTITUTION:When a person fitted with a seat belt 10 moves, the belt is pulled out against a return spring and the projections 25a, 25b, 25c are moved in the long holes 22a, 22b, 22c. When the person stops, the pulling-out of the belt 10 is stopped and the projections 25a, 25b, 25c are also stopped in the long holes 22a, 22b, 22c. When the person moves back to the original position, the belt 10 is wound by the return spring and the projections on the external gear 20 are revolved from the stop positions in the long holes 22a, 22b, 22c of the disc ratchet 19 to side walls 42a, 42b, 42c. Because the blet 10 is not wound beyond an initially set posiion, the person does not feel pressurization. |
