PURPOSE:To adjust the polarized surface, by incorporating the electric polarized wave rotation unit inside the primary radiator. CONSTITUTION:The electromagnetic waves of TE10 mode transmitted from the power feed waveguide A4 or B5 are converted into TE11 mode at the circular waveguide at the pollarized separator 3 and are transmitted to the primary horn 2. In this case, the ferrite rod 7 having suitable diameter and length is placed on the center axis of the horn 2 and DC magnetic field is applied axially with the electromagnetic coil 8. When the polarized waves to a direction transmits on this part, the polarized surface is rotated. When the coil current is operated, the rotational angle of the polarizes surface is changed continuously and when the polarity of the DC power supply 9 is made opposite, the direction of rotation of the polarized surface is reversed. Since the adjusting range of the polarized surface is around + or - 2 degrees, the diamter and length of the ferrite rod have the size which almost does not affect the electric performance of the primary radiator. Further, it is fixed at the center axis with polyurethane foam to suppress the deterioration in performance of the primary radiator to the utmost. |
