<p>PURPOSE:To reduce a lowering of an iodine removal efficiency under the high humidity of a silver adhering absorbent which serves to detect radioative iodine contained in exhaust gas from an atom plant. CONSTITUTION:Silver chemical compound, such as Ag2O, Ag2CO3, Ag2SO4 and so on, is adhered to a carrier, such as alumina, silica gel, silica gel system carrier, porous polystyrene and the like. This silver chemical compound is touched with gas to be processed under the relative humidity of 85% or more, and radioative iodine, such as a simple iodine, methyle iodine etc., is absorbed for removal from the aforesaid gas. The silver chemical compound, which is adhered, shall have the density of silver iodine in a water solution saturated at a temperature of 20 deg.C being 10<-4> mol/l solution or more, and being 50X[(100-RH)/RH] (RH stated herein represents the relative humidity), or RH(100%)mol/l solution or less. The fig. shows how to follow process procedure in order to adhere Ag2SO4 to a carrier.</p> |
