RANGE WITH CONVERTIBLE RADIANT CONVECTION OVEN

A domestic cooking range of the ventilated type has surface elements and an underlying oven. An extension of a ventilating fan motor shaft carries an auxiliary fan disposed within the oven which provides forced circulation of air in the oven. The oven may be selectively operated in the conventional radiant heating mode or in a forced circulation or "convected" mode depending upon whether the ventilating fan motor is in operation. The oven has conventional upper and lower heating elements therein. An air plenum chamber extends along one sidewall of the oven and extends between an intake aperture adjacent the surface elements and the ventilating fan. The auxiliary fan is supported within a housing formed in said one sidewall. The housing has an intake aperture communicating with the oven interior and exhaust apertures adjacent the upper and lower elements.
