PURPOSE:To obviate the deterioration in the electrostatic chargeability of the developer by incorporating the metal salt of stearic acid into the coating layer of a coated carrier. CONSTITUTION:The metal salt of the stearic acid is incorporated into the coating layer of the coated carrier of the developer consisting of a negative chargeable toner contg. a resin and coloring agent and the coated carrier having the coating layer consisting of the resin on the surface of the core material. Calcium stearate, barium stearate, zinc stearate, aluminum stearate, magnesium stearate, etc., are usable as the metal salt of the stearic acid and the content thereof is preferably 0.01-3wt.%, more preferably 0.05-2wt.% in the coating layer. The developer having good copying image quality, stable electrostatic quantity and practicable durability is obtd. in this way. |
