The vacuum cleaner attachment is adapted for carpet and floor cleaning and has an eccentric mechanism to permit the height to be adjusted. It has a dome-shaped housing cover (1) with access holes for two foot-pedals (7, 8). The underside of the housing contains a brush plate (4) with a row of brushes (5) attached. Pressure on the operating pedal (7) causes the brush unit to be lowered in contact with the floor. The retractor pedal (8) is used to raise the brush plate again. The movement is actuated by an eccentric cam (10) limited by a stop (13) sliding in a circular arc cutout (14). The cam abuts a sloping depression (11) with an angle from 10 deg.-30 deg. from the horizontal.
