The ball game device for carrying out tennis-like competitive ball games has racket, balls and devices for bounding playing areas by length and width and for separating the playing areas from one another by a height marking. The special feature of the device consists in that balls made of elastic soft foamed materials are provided whose specific weight is less than 0.35 kg/dm<3>, the balls having a diameter of less than 12 cm, in that the playing area boundary device consists of cords or tapes and holding weights, the cords or tapes serving to form a variable playing area marking being held by the weights in the corners of the respective playing area, and in that a playing area separation device is provided, which has two easily transportable stands with extension arms which can be folded in and a playing-area net which can be stretched between the stands, said stands being provided with devices by means of which the playing-area net can be hung up so as to be variable in height for adaptation to a selectable type of game or to correspond to the wishes of the players. The ball game can be carried out as a competitive game, always offering equal chances, even in the case of different skills, specifically on any available sites, for example sports fields, school yards, parks, etc. <IMAGE>
