PURPOSE:To form images having crystallinity, good heat stability, and high resolution, and to provide a photosensitive material of low melting point supported on paper or synthetic resin, by using a silver salt of a specified benzoic acid derivative. CONSTITUTION:A metastable benzoic acid derivative of formula I (in which R is a 6 or more C long chanin alkyl group; and X and Y are each H or 4 or less C lower alkoxy, at least one of them is alkoxy) is converted into an alkaline earth metal salt, and reacted with a soluble silver salt, such as silver nitrate, in a solvent to give a photosensitive organic silver salt, such as formula II or III. These silver salts are used in combination with hydrogen halide, alkyl halide or the like. |
