PURPOSE:To form images high in sensitivity and density, and further superior in color reproductivity and in resistance to light, heat, and humidity and to prevent a coupler from coagulating and precipitating in preparating an emulsion, by using a specified cyan image forming coupler. CONSTITUTION:A cyan image forming coupler represented by formula I (in which A is a cyan ocoupler residue and R is cyclic or acyclic alkyl, or aryl, each substitutable), espectially by formula II (in which X is H or a substituted group releasable in a color developing process and capable of coupling, such as halogen, thiocyano, acyloxy, aryloxy, alkoxy, arylazo, or the like; R1-R4 are H, halogen, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, alkylthio, heterocyclic, amino, carbonamido, sulfonamide, sulfamoyl, or carbamyl; and W is a nonmetallic atom necessary for forming a 5- or 6-membered ring, preferably a benzen ring) is dispersed in a silver halide color photographic emulsion. |
