The bowl is for playing the game of bowls or petanque outdoors on unprepared ground, such as a beach. It has one, or even two, weights and is designed to provide variants to the game for handicapping or scoring. The bowl is the same weight as, or heavier than the normal bowl. It is hollow in part, and therefore larger than an ordinary bowl. The bowl may be of metal, wood, plastics or other suitable material or combination of materials, and with or without a protective coating.
