The valve controls flow between the cooling circuit and a heater circuit, being operated by mechanical remote control, and using a shutter obturator (31) which is displaceable parallel to the plane contg. the aperture (5) controlled. A rectangular valve housing (1) has inlet (3) and outlet (5) apertures, the latter being traversed by a shutter (31) which is actuated by a push rod (51). The active face of the shutter has a demountable lining (45) which has a greater area than the outlet aperture, and which effects the seal by means of a peripheral upstand (46). The components may be of plastics with the lining of rubber, and an arched clip on blade spring (41) may force the upstand into its seat.
