<p>The boom is used agriculturally for distributing liquids such as fertilisers and comprises a frame fixed each side of a tanker vehicle. Each frame folds outwards horizontally and carries a hose for conveying the liquid. Each cantilever boom is of lattice work construction made from circular section tubes. The inner end pivots on a frame fixed to the vehicle side and an hydraulic ram controls the boom movement. In order to prevent flexure when in use, each boom has an auxiliary latice work frame, which folds outwards in a vertical direction.</p> |
