The switch consists of a lower part and an upper part serving as the operating element. There are control and switching elements releasing operational states, and terminals for the cable. The operating element (2) contact travels in one direction (42) for several consecutive switching processes, and its path is divided in several parts (41) to which at least one control or switching element is allocated. One or more springs (23, 24) are provided, whose force opposing the operating element down movement is increased in steps with the number of switching paths.
