<p>The engine has a radiator for cooling the cooling water, mounted in front of the cylinder block. A fan driven by a belt from the crankshaft is placed between the cylinder block and the radiator and pulls ambient air (13) over the radiator. A dust separator is mounted in front of the radiator to remove dust from the air before it reaches the radiator. The separator has a casing divided by horizontal plates (11) into several independent air passages. Two baffles (10) in each passage compel the air to travel in an S path through the passage and thus cause dust to be settled out by centrifugal action.</p> |
