<p>The expander has a mandrel with a channel connected to a compressed air source and a die. The die has a recess corresponding to the shape of the deformed blank and may be moved over the mandrel. A resilient deformable collar is positioned between an axially displaceable and an axially lockable mandrel section. The undeformed external dia. of the collar is smaller than that of the neighbouring displaceable section. The section is reduced in dia. from the end next to the collar towards the free end, to a size which is smaller than the internal dia. of the undeformed blank.</p> |
