In road repair work, for cutting away damaged surfaces, before applying a new coating, the cutting components on a cutter roller has pref. hard-metal armed head, and stop piece and retainer pieces for insertion in the radially opening using insertable bolts. The combined retaining and stop piece (5) for insertion in the tool holder (10) has a cutter head (3, 4) at both ends. Max. cross-section of these is such that they do not protrude beyond the piece's cross-sectional surface, while the piece has its abutment (11) in the tool holder. It may have a stem piece for support on the sidewall of the tool holder, on the side facing away from the roller. The cutting tool is easily inserted in a normal holder, and is durable.
