摘要 <p>The initial carnallite (1) contains by wt. 39-41% water, and is heated to 205-230 degrees C. by the combustion prods. (a) at 500-600 degrees C of a burnt fuel, to obtain solid carnallite (2) contg. 3-8% water. Carnallite (2) is then fed into a reactor (b) for melting and treating with a chlorinating agent (c). Melting in reactor (b) is achieved by combustion prods. (d) at 700-1150 degrees C, obtd. from a burnt fuel, and fed tangentially into reactor (b) to form an intensive gas vortex exerting a centrifugal action on the carnallite. Solid impurities are removed from the molten carnallite (2), and the resulting carnallite (3) contains 0.5% water. Gases (d) are pref. fed at 40-200 m/s into reactor (b), which is at 1050-1150 degrees C; and Cl2 is fed into the reactor (b) to form HCl (c) by reaction with H2O in gases (d). Gases leaving the reactor are pref. used to heat carnallite (1). This process is simple and inexpensive when compared with conventional processes.</p>
