The patient transport vehicle has a supporting platform for a stretcher which can be lowered with the head end, at the front in the travel direction, into a bottom position and slid in the lengthwise direction. The pivot pin (6) which allows lowering of the head end of the platform (7) is also movable in the lengthwise direction. The pin can slide with the platform, being mounted in a slide (5) working in a stationary guide (4), and situated at the slide forward end.
