<p>Grinding discs for the reduction of cellulose, consisting of a support plate on which vertical blades are arranged, are produced by a moulding technique. A pattern of the required grinding disc together with its cutter blades are corresponding to its dimensions, is used to produce a mould. The blades are fitted into the slots formed in the mould, and they are attached to each other at their upper edges by a ring. The remaining space originally taken up by the pattern is filled in with a suitable molten material. Used in the prodn. of cutters for the reduction of cellulose to the condition required for paper and board mfr. The invention ensures that blades with the necessary hardness to withstand wear without breaking are fixed securely in the carrier plate at the correct alignment, so that the difficulties and shortcomings of cutter discs produced by other methods are overcome.</p> |
