The bass cello includes an adjustable, removable knee rest that is designed to minimise the attenuation produced by contact with the body. The intention is to mount a knee pad(2) from arms (1) that are secured (3) to the body of the cello. The pad is positioned without contact with the cello main surface. The arms may be tubular and locate in brackets allowing adjustment to be made. The adjustment to the position of the pad (2) on the arms (1) is typically by means of a knurled head clamping screw behind the pad.
