发明名称 PRODUCTION OF PARENT MATERIAL FOR LIGHTTTRANSMITTING FIBER
摘要 PURPOSE:A tube reactor that is placed on a couple of revolving rollers is made to rotate by driving belt and gases of raw materials and reaction gases are introduced into the reactor, thereby obtaining title parent material with uniformity in characteristics by using miniaturized and simple units. CONSTITUTION:Reactors of quartz tube 2 are placed on rotating rollers 9 that are fixed to supports 8 on base plate 7 and made to rotate by driving belt that presses the reactor to the rollers with driving system 10, 11. Stopper 14 is mounted so that the slippage of the tube reactor toward the direction of the tube axis is prevented. The gases of raw materials and for reaction are introduced from inlet 4 and simultaneously oxyhydrogen flame 5 is reciprocated along the direction of tube axis to heat the tube reactor, thus collecting a prescribed amount of soot on the inner surface of tube 2. Then, the soot is made into glass and, after collapse process, to the parent material for light-transmitting fiber. The flow rate of gases that are fed into a plurality of reactors is accurately controlled, thus producing plural parent materials for light-transmitting fiber with almost the same properties.
