The appliance is designed to reduce fatigue and muscular exertion involved in the process of smoothing plaster after its application to a wall etc., usually requiring continuous sweeping movements with a large rectangular board. The disc shaped plate pref. has a circular finishing surface, and a coupling in the centre for connection to the motor's drive shaft. The plate may be of plastics, esp. hard foamed plastic, and it may be fixed to a carrier unit to which the coupling is attached, this unit being pref. cast into the plate. The carrier unit may have a thread which can be screwed onto a corresponding thread on the drive shaft, and it may be made of flat bar steel. The work is speeded up, and effort is reduced. |
