PURPOSE:To accelerate desulfurization reaction and reduce the amt. of a desulfurizing agent used by pouring hot iron onto the agent previously charged into a ladle and blowing an oxygen-contg. gas. CONSTITUTION:A desulfurizing agent such as Na2CO3 is previously charged into a ladle in an amt. of 2.0-3.0 kg/t of hot iron. Hot iron is poured onto the agent, and an inert gas such as N2 mixed with 5-20% O2 is blown to desulfurize the hot iron. CO gas formed by the reaction of the O2 and C in the hot iron stirs the hot iron more actively to reduce unreacted Na2CO3 in slag as well as to accelerate desulfurizaton reaction. In addn., the blowing time is shortened, and a hot iron temp. drop is controlled. |
