PURPOSE:To cut off sealing glass from the atmosphere and achieve corrosion prevention by forming a silicon oxide film on the floating surface of the sealing glass. CONSTITUTION:A so-called floating silder assembly which comprises holding a read-write core 2 to a slider 1 composed of ceramics or the like by sealing glass 3 is usually used for the floating type ceramic head. A silicon oxide film layer 4 is formed through hydrolysis of a silicon base organic compound on the floating face of said glass 3. This film 4 enables the glass 3 to be protected from corrosion owing to corrosive gases, corrosive salts or moistures in the atmosphere. Hence, the floating type magnetic head using this floating type slider assembly may be enhanced of its quality without receiving the effect of the corrosive matter of the glass 3. |
