The recording and reproduction of colour TV signal for secam system utilises magnetic tape on which signals are recorded at high density. Parasitic signals from adjacent tracks are suppressed. The reproduction system contains luminance and chrominance reproduction circuits. Signals from pick up heads pass via low pass filter and level control circuit to frequency changer controlled by a circuit which rotates ginal phase alternately clockwise and counter clockwise. Comb filter removes noise from adjacent tracks. Logic controlled switch connects chrominance signal directly or via delay in sync. with head rotation.
