<p>The butt joint is used between insulated wall panels (10, 20) of a sandwich construction, the square panel ends being grooved to house a post (6). Laminar warping of the panel layers is obviated by the application of a sheet metal lining (4) to the end faces, the linings being returned and fixed (5) to the major panel faces. The core (3) may be of plastics foam, and the interior skin (2) of asbestos cement, the latter having calibrated perforations releasing heat generated gases within the core.</p> |
