PURPOSE:To completely demagnetize a magnetic tape in by winding the magnetic pate within the cassette while moving the latter. CONSTITUTION:By the rotations of a pinion gear 19 and by the actions of a rack 17a meshing the same, a cassette transfer plate 17 is moved in the direction of arrow C so that the cassette 12 on the plate 17 is exposed to the demagnetizing field which is generated by a demagnetizer 11. When a shaft of rotation 14 is turned, the tape reel in the cassette 12 is turned so that a magnetic tape 23 is made to run so that it is wound between the tape reels. As a result, the whole winding of the magnetic tape upon the tape reel is exposed uniformly to the demagnetizing field so that the magnetic tape can be uniformly demagnetized without any failure or irregularity in the demagnetization. |
