The two contact of the switch are in electric contact, one being displaceably mounted and mechanically connected with a short circuiting contact system and a rapid drive. The switch has an operational drive (18) and the second displaceable contact group (6) is in kinematic connection with this operational drive. The drive has a lever (19) with a guide and a free tripping device connecting the guide kinematically to the second contact group. The drive contains an electromagnetic trip. The rapid drive (15) has an auxiliary contact which lies in the circuit of the electromagnetic trip so that the response of the rapid drive breaks the auxiliary contact, enabling the electromagnetic trip to energise the free tripping device.
