The furniture has a structure with three walls (1a, 1b) and with a structure frame (31, 32) inside which a padded seat with two seat parts (2, 3) and a backrest (4) are arranged. The latter (2, 3, 4) are provided in a seat frame (17, 18), a displaceable bed-clothes drawer (5) being mounted below the seat parts (2, 3). The structure frame (31, 32) and the seat frame (17, 18) are connected by connecting rods (8, 11) and pivoting levers (30). In order to move the furniture from the seating position into the lying position, the bed-clothes drawer (5) is partially pulled out, for which purpose it is provided with sliding rollers (15) which are guided in U-shaped profiles (13). The seat parts (2, 3) are then moved over the extended bed-clothes drawer (5), the pivoting levers (30) temporarily raising the seat parts (2, 3) slightly and holding the lower seat part (2) in its extended end position. During this movement of the seat parts (2, 3), the backrest (4) is tilted behind the seat parts (2, 3) by means of the connecting rods (8, 11) which are connected to the structure (1a, 1b; 31, 32). Finally, the bed-clothes drawer (5) is pulled out completely and the upper seat part (3) is arranged next to the lower seat part (2) on the drawer (5). <IMAGE>
