PURPOSE:To measure the averaged concentration of solid matter in duct line, by forming the inner wall part of duct line in which fluid flows in an ellipsoidal part, and constituting to receive the ultrasonic wave released in radial form from the transmitting part by reflecting against the ellipsoidal part. CONSTITUTION:Of the ultrasonic waves radiated from a transmitting part 11, those reflected against ellipsoidal part 11b such as paths (a) and (b) reach a receiving part 12 all at the same propagation distance. The ultrasonic wave released straightly from the transmitting part 11 and passing through path (d) reaches the receiving part 12 earlier than the ultrasonic wave reflected by ellipsoidal part 10b. Therefore, by sampling by closing the gate for the time band of entering of straightly advancing ultrasonic wave and opening the gate for the time band of reaching of the reflected ultrasonic wave, only the ultrasonic waves which pass through the entire duct line interior and are damped by the solid matter contained in the fluid or the like are received, so that the averaged value of solid concentration may be measured from the output signal of the rceiving part 12. |
