The brake for lift cars etc, is used when there is a failure of the drive brake or the operating circuit where the brake can also be used for shock landings in the lower travel limits. It is intended for lifts or load conveyors with capture devices or with speed limiters. Instead of the conventional braking and stopping using capture buffers, the capture device is set into action where usually the buffer path starts. Consequently, the braking operation is carried out up to the point where the lift car comes to rest. The capture device is actually set into action by blutching or engagement by action on the speed regulator.
