The crankshaft (14) of the engine (13) has a pulley (15) from which a belt drives a pulley (16) on the shaft of the servo system pump (11). Two pulleys (18, 19) are supported on bearings on the pump shaft so that they can turn independently of it. Each of these pulleys is connected by a belt to a pulley (21) on the shaft of a generator (12) or other auxiliary equipment. A hydraulically operated clutch (22) can put one or other of the auxiliary equipment pulleys (18, 19) into direct contact with the pump pulley (16). The clutch is operated to change the auxiliary equipment drive at a preset engine speed.
