Slide fastener for tent awnings or caravan awnings has one member composed of a flexible plastics strip which is integrally extrude with a rigid plastics sleeve provide with slits and subdivided into sections by intervening gaps, the sleeve sections receiving a plastics bead extruded integrally with a further plastics strip. The strip may further be extruded integrally with a cover strip of the same material. Combination of flexible strip with the rigid sleeve permits of flexing of the fastener whilst permitting secure frictional locking of the fastener members.
