<p>The fire fighting process consists of covering the burning surface with anincombustible material in fibre form and of high absorptive capacity, in particular mineral wool. The wool can be spread over the entire burning surface, and where this is a liq. the layer can be made thick enough to soak it up. Projection can be by air jet, typically using a blower with nozzle, with its inlet connected to a mineral wool hopper. A metering conveyor can be provided, to deliver the wool to the hopper at a constant rate, while knives can be mounted on the blower runner opposite the inlet, working in conjunction with others fixed to the housing wall.</p> |
