<p>Composite metal armour comprising ceramic inserts (42) arranged in a regular manner into the thickness and allowing a good and reproducible ballistic efficiency. To ensure the positioning of the ceramic inserts at regular intervals, these are arranged into encasing shells which comprise male and female bearings engaging the ones into the others, so as to ensure the predetermined relative positionings and intervals in which the metal of the armour will flow during its casting. The invention may be applied to armours for assault tanks.</p> |
