PURPOSE:To obtain high dignity of printing, in a latent image forming method of electrostatic non-impact printer, by specifying the value of electric fields provided between driven pin electrode and non-driven pin electrode, between recording media, etc. CONSTITUTION:On a recording medium 10 having a dielectric 2 provided on a conductive layer 1 are disposed a driven pin electrode 3b, and non-driven pin electrodes 3a, 3c at a fine gap G, and voltages are applied to the electrodes. An electric field Epl is provided between the driven pin electrode 3b and the adjacent non- driven pin electrode 3c (or 3a), and an electric field Eg is provided between the driven pin electrode 3b and the recording medium 10. At this time, the values of the electric fields are so set that the relation of Epas/Epl>2, Eg/Epl>2.5 [Epas is the discharge start electrc field between the driven pin electrode 3b and non- driven pin electrode 3c (or 3a)] may be satisfied, and the latent image is formed in this state. |
