The coupling is for metal pipes. The pipe ends are joined by a metal sleeve contg. sealing rings in grooves and secured by compressing parts of the sleeve. The sealing rings (6, 7) are compressed at a number of points round the periphery by bending in the sleeve ends(12) to a greater or lesser degree, typically forming corrugations or dog teeth. The sleeve can be pressed inwards to engage in indentations formed in the outside pipe surfaces.
