PURPOSE:To secure the optimum transmission efficiency at all times by giving the constant check to the error occurrence rate of the transmission line. CONSTITUTION:With transmission of block B1, reception confirmation signal ACK plus error signal ERROR1 to inform error occurrence rate alpha1 are sent back from the reception side. When rate alpha1 is small, block B2 corresponding from the beginning of digital information D through (n1 + 1) character - (n1 + n2) character is transmitted from the transmission side. In this case, if the error signal informing error occurrence rate alpha2 (>alpha1) is sent back from the reception side, block B2' (n2>n2') corresponding to character (n1 + 1) - (n2 + n2') which is shorter than B2 is transmitted from the transmission side. At the reception side, error occurrence rate alpha1' is sent back when block B2' is received correctly, and the fact that the value of alpha1' is small can be recognized. The above actions are given also to block B3 and B4. |
